Trimming the edges of the turf is another
critical part of the aesthetics. This is pretty simple and
there are a number of ways to accomplish this step. You may
take a piece of chalk or something thereof, and lightly
scribe your design into the top of the turf. If you do not
like a certain area, rub it out and scribe again! Whenever
you make rounded cuts along the edges, it is critical to
make smooth circular cuts.
Take your time and follow your mark in the
turf. (You can use a pair of scissors or your carpet cutter
to cut any "straggling" fibers around the edges of your
green or around the holes.) Whatever you choose to create a
guide to cut the shape of your putting green remember to
take your time … you do not want to rush and cut to much
off.
